Own vs. Rent
It's a popular saying 'better to own your home than to rent'. But that doesn't mean that everyone should be a homeowner. If interest rates are high and property values outrageous, it may be worthwhile to keep renting for a while.
When buying a home, you should find a neighborhood and a home that you just plain like.
If the sales prices are declining in value, then avoid commitment: You're probably better off renting.
Don't forget that you will be incurring out-of-pocket costs that you wouldn't encounter as a renter. Before you buy, estimate how much those costs will be. Enter all numbers to read results at the bottom:
